utterly disgusted with the fact that npc's have the ability to use heal area...

i mean come on, if the npc wants to heal himself, or his party mate fine, hell even give the mobs heal party..

i like to go it solo a lot of the time, so i find myself with henchman more then not, which isnt really all that bad. but when i go fight an npc that uses heal area.. and i can sit there put my character on auto attack go smoke a cig and come back and ABSOLUTLY NOTHING has been acomplished it just pisses me off till no end.

i just started a new character too, and was escorting an npc back to town.. this npc has no weapon, yet insisted on fighting melee with me, using heal area.. and the mob i was fighting was using heal area also.. talk about a nightmare, it literally took me like 20 minutes of just fighting this SINGLE npc to kill him because of simple fact that every time i'd get him low my moronic npc escort with 95% hp would use heal area and heal him back up.

with no way to tell these npc's to move, or stop, or get the f**k out of the way and go sit down. this kind of stuff just makes me want to shove my keyboard though my monitor. is there anyway to get around this sort of thing..

whats the point in giving npc's heal area? you learn it at a very very low lvl, way before you can even consider getting a signet of capture, so thats not the reason. it seems its just there as a time sink, turn what should be a 30sec-1min fight into a 20 min fight because the npc's dont have the rational or understanding to know when to use or when not to use this skill..

anet if you're reading.. TAKE AWAY HEAL AREA FROM NPC'S!

Well the only class I can see having a problem with this is Monk...and they have Scourge Healing (which triggers twice when an opponent uses Heal Area).

Every other class has an interupt for this, plus, E-Denial is available to each build as well (which would shorten the battle at least if you for some reason hate interupting).

What type of Char are you? And perhaps you are very low level?

Maybe use your skills more effectively to kill him?

I've never had a problem.

Try taking the High Priest Alkar that's in Grenth's Footprint. He likes to use heal area and even has been caught casting Orison of Healing on enemy minions. I died once and decided to watch him (staying near the rez shrine there). I clicked on him and watched him run up to where the necro boss was and follow him back to the cave at the top of the hill, and he actually kept using Orison of Healing on the enemy's minions. He does this while you are trying to fight enemies and he is in your party (ally)..

I am glad that monsters have access to the same skills players do. Don't take away Heal Area from NPC's. You just need to look at the skills you bring when you face these types of mops. Whether it's the Grenth's High Priest or the Charr Overseers you just have to learn how to counter them. I have solo'd the Charr with a Warrior, Necro, Monk, and Ranger. It's possible. It did take me some time to learn how to defeat them and they aren't the fastest kill, but by no means should take 20 minutes. The only boss I can think of that took me 20 minutes was Coventina. I went to cap from her on my monk and forgot scourge healing and I brought Cynn who kept cause her to run back into the pack after I lured her out. I had already gotten 1 cap and didn't really think I would get that far for the second.

By the way you shouldn't be able to walk away and come back and have your character beat a difficult mop. If it was it would be called something else... Wow!

What the hey? I've never heard of anybody having this problem. I've made 4 pve characters and never ran into this problem..... Hell I didn't even notice all of the NPCs could heal themselves and I did all of the presear quests.....

Maybe bring gwen along so she heals the npc in stead of him healing himself.

No, nobody else is disgusted with Grawl using Heal Area.

1. take SOME form of interuption.
2. Perhaps you should level up a bit, stop trying to solo them at level 7. You need to be atleast level 9 to solo them in most cases.
3.Take something that deals damage. AND USE YOUR SKILLS

Unless you are a monk, you should be there using your damage skills instead of blackening your lungs.

I really can't see the OP's problem. If they use Henchmen and they are attacking (presumably) Grawl. They can only use Heal Area for 30HP. Even if it is only you and three other Henchmen, you should surely be able to do way more than 30 Damage between it using Heal Area and using once more. Also consider how much damage your Skills do.

If this is the Quest I think it is (The one with Farmer Hammet) it really isn't that hard. Just think about which skills to use.
